“We worked hard all day today and we were heading down the hill, but then we saw a woman with 2 toddlers digging away. Tired as we were, we decided to stop and help her dig her portion for the pipelines. This shows the character of the people we have at this trip. I am so honored to be a part of this group.”

Also we had a great soccer game yesterday, we lost 7-6 to the teachers but after a day of digging trenches, I think we should be proud of that. I scored 4 goals so I was really pumped and then we were treated to a wonderful traditional dinner put on by the teachers at the high school.”

Life is so pure and simple here, I think we all can learn a lot from this community.” -Update from Sid, one of the travel team members

May 28, 2014:

In the past 2 days the team has fixed two pipe leaks, one of them with water flowing during the repair, dug up most of the trench for the new pipeline, checked for E. Coli in the water, and finished setting up the pilot filter!

May 26, 2014:

Today was very busy for the team! They assembled the pilot filters for the slow sand filter, taught English lessons to high school students, took clinical information and got surveys from students, collected water samples to test for E. Coli, and taught a few kids how to use a DSLR camera. They’ll need plenty of sleep tonight to be prepared for a lot digging  tomorrow!

May 24, 2014:

Today the travel team did a lot of hiking. Starting at 5am the team began to explore the area where they would be implementing the projects and carrying equipment up and down trails. They also played some soccer with the locals (and won) and did some more hiking that night to see a meteor shower.
